[His voice was tiny, pathetic, meek. He... He couldn't fathom this, he couldn't handle this. This was worse than a break up, this was... This was horrible. He had a kismesis, he had someone he truly fucking hated and loathed and now--they were gone.]

[Even if they hadn't had the relationship as this, being without Karkat would still be hard. No matter what spectrum he was in, Karkat was important to Eridan in one way or another and now?]

Kan... He can't be gone. He fuckin' can't... He isn't fuckin' allowed to be gone. I DIDN'T SAY HE COULD LEAWE!

[He waited till Eridan was done, though that was a feat in itself. Every word that came out of the sea trolls was grinding against his nerves more then the last. It was no wonder when Eridan had finally finished that he was already standing up, leaving Kanaya's hugs to confront him.]

SHUT UP. Stop fucking bitching for once in your life. Do you think you're the only one who didn't want him to go?!

[Sollux was having a hard time coping with this fact by himself, he didn't need Eridan here. He snarling at you boy. Aww nah.]

[Well, this is going well.

Kanaya leaps to her feet and gets between the two boys, using one hand to hold Sollux back and reaching out to Eridan with the other one.]

Calm down, both of you. We all miss Karkat, but this isn't anyone's fault!

[Why does she get the feeling this is going to fall on deaf ears?]

[When Sol rises to yell at him, all of his sadness? Yeah, it changes straight to anger. Who the fuck did Sol think he WAS to yell at Eridan at a time like this!? Well, other than Karkat's best friend--BUT that was BESIDES the point!]

[Venom man, all through those words. He was ready to fucking claw your eyes out--not that... That would really change much--BUT STILL.]

[That is until Kanaya gets between them, his anger still there, however he calms slightly.]

[Oh Sollux was ready for this fight. He broke your glasses Eridan and he could do it again if he tried! ~~aka just got lucky~~]

[He does calm down slightly when Kanaya intervenes though. He was still upset, but she was in the way of potential fighting.]

[This is going well.

She speaks to Eridan first, knowing that he was the more dangerous of the two, the one most likely to fly completely off the handle.]

That's right, it's no one's fault, so don't blame yourself for it, okay? Because it just happened, you didn't have anything to do with it.

[Then she turns to Sollux, her back to Eridan, and takes him by the arms. He's trembling a little under her hands.]

Do you hear that, Sollux? This isn't your fault.

[All that anger that was ready to burst out of him? Yeah, that one statement definitely pulverized it. He... He wasn't blaming himself--was he? No. He knew this wasn't his fault. He knew he couldn't have prevented this... He knew...]

[Damnit, Kanaya why were you so good at this? It was really fucking infuriating sometimes and--emotionally straining. Yeah, Eridan is just going to take this opportunity of Kan turning to Sollux to just leave as swiftly as he had made is entrance. He just couldn't handle being in this room with her and Sollux. He had enough problems to deal with without Sollux there pissing him off.]

[Sollux scowled as he jerked his arms away from Kanaya. He really just. He didn't want to be touched at the moment. He was too worked up and it wasn't helping anything like it had before.]

I never said it was, Kanaya.

[Stop calling him out on his feelings Kanaya!]

Of course not.

[Her hands fall limply to her sides, and she sighs.]

Of course not.

[Repeating herself now, but she just doesn't know what else to say. Because even though she'd just told the boys that it wasn't anyone's fault... there's a small part of her that thinks that isn't entirely true. There's a part of her that thinks it could be her fault, just like maybe it was her fault when Tavros left.]

Dammit, you guys...

[Said quietly, muttering, not aware that she and Sollux are alone.]

[Sollux wasn't aware that Eridan had left either, but he was appreciating the silence from that side of the room regardless. He could only keep up this anger for so long and then well after that he didn't want anyone to be there for that. He could feel himself slipping already.]

He's already gone, there's nothing we can do to change it.

[He's just going to head out of the room himself, gotta go quick he doesn't want to just break down here. Nope that's not something he is going to deal with.]

Close the door on your way out, and make sure fishy douche goes with you.

[Kanaya glances over her shoulder, following Sollux's trajectory, and she's surprised to see that Eridan is gone. She fights the urge to immediately check her Dreamberry, make sure he just walked out instead of disappeared, but instead she follows Sollux.]

Are you sure you're okay? Do you need me to get anything for you? I can stay here with you, if you want... if you need me...

[Because if she stays here with you, she can concentrate on you needing her, Sollux, and not on her own feelings about this whole mess.]

[Unfortunately Sollux doesn't pick up on the fact that Kanaya needs this more for herself. He's too wrapped up in his own feelings and emotions now along with the left over anger he built up towards Eridan.]

I'm FINE. I don't need anything!

[He winces a bit after he snapped at her, bringing an hand up to nurse his ever growing headache. Fuck he really didn't mean to do that.]

....look I just. Leave me alone for a bit. Please. That's all I need Kay-en.

[Kay-en, KN. Same diff. Congrats on your nickname Kanaya. He didn't mean the snap at you. :c]

All right, I'll go.

[But she doesn't leave right away, instead standing and fidgetting in Karkat's abandoned room.]

I'll come over tomorrow and check on you.

[And then she does leave, fleeing out into the woods, needing to wander around in the trees for awhile, needing to be alone with her thoughts.

She doesn't even notice that Sollux called her Kay-en.]

[Today was a such a shitty day. Time to lay around and do nothing but mope. Probably cocoon himself up in Karkat's room with blankets. :c]
